From Theatre Y and featuring Ensemble Member Howard Raik
Fifteen years ago, Theatre Y was formed as a means of producing the work of playwright András Visky. This year, we celebrate him as the seed of inspiration that formed our company. Over these 15 weeks, we will host virtual conversations with co-founding Artistic Director Melissa Lorraine, the ensemble members, and András Visky. His childhood in a prison camp, his ongoing persecution under the Communist Dictatorships of Romania and his Barrack Dramaturgy make him strangely qualified to orient us through this present moment of profound grief and extreme loss of control.
In the fall of 2020 Theatre Y will officially honor András Visky and the release of his directorial film debut featuring Lorraine entitled Performing Juliet.
Theatre Y creates radically hospitable spaces for communion through critical and intimate participation. This can not be accomplished through theater right now, but we are no less determined to hear from you.
Please email us with any offering you have in response to this serial.
Music. Image. Text. Video.
