A stark, intensely visceral, emotionally devastating reimagining of Theatre Y’s signature one woman show, this second iteration of Juliet marked the second collaboration with director Karin Coonrod. Performed at the Royal George Theater, the production introduced Visky’s seminal text to a wider Chicago audience. Staged in a black box space on a bare circular steel platform, Juliet’s absent husband’s coat hung suspended from the ceiling. This production of Juliet coupled arresting elements of full force physicality and abstract movement with Lorraine’s emotionally rich embodiment of the title character. The show received an international tour, playing in both Italy and Serbia.
